Distinguished Awards
The ISHR NAS has established a variety of awards and lectures designed to recognize the dedication and leadership of its members. To highlight the distinguished recipients and presenters, the Annual ISHR NAS Meeting will host an Awards Ceremony and Banquet, which is included in the cost of registration.
The Eric N. Olson Mentorship Award
The Eric N. Olson Mentorship Award at ISHR NAS was established in 2020 to recognize a faculty member with a clear dedication to mentorship and their support of trainees and young scientists. This award will be given to a faculty member chosen by the Olson Mentorship Award Committee: Drs. Tim McKinsey, Kunhua Song, Mike Czubryt, Kathleen (KC) Woulfe and Lorrie Kirshenbaum.
Nominations for this award will be accepted by a compiled PDF file, including a letter of nomination jointly drafted by 2 or more trainees of the nominee (less than 2 pages), together with a copy of the nominee’s CV, as well as the NIH bio-sketches of the trainees.

The Litsa Kranias ECI Leadership Award
The Litsa Kranias ECI Leadership Award was founded to recognize early career scientists demonstrating astounding leadership qualities.

MCI Leadership Award
The purpose of this Award is to recognize an outstanding mid-career scientist who is making major and independent contributions to the advancement of cardiovascular science and leading a growing research program likely to play a significant role in the future. The main criteria for selecting awardees are scientific excellence, research contributions, mentoring, leadership and service to the cardiovascular community. The MCI Leadership Achievement Award is presented at the NAS ISHR annual meeting to an investigator in the intermediate phase of an established academic career. The awardee will present a major lecture, will receive a $1,000 honorarium and a plaque, and will be featured in JMCC.
